Raring to Go!!

So Christmas is over but we have New Year to come!

On Saturday 22nd December my daughter had her party as it was her birthday the next day, this was held in the local village pub near her dad’s. It was a great night, I didn’t realise how a room full of 17 & 18 year olds could be quite enjoyable. They were very well behaved & pleasant & we all had a great night.

Kim’s birthday was a rather quiet affair as she’d had a late night the night before so we had rather a quiet day then a take away in the evening – she’d celebrated so much the night before she was very tired! So we put the lunch & shopping trip on hold. Christmas eve was a busy day, Kim & I did the lunch & shopping on top of everything else but it was a lovely day spent with my daughter until the family arrived.

I’ve had a wonderful Christmas – my mum, my twin sister Janet & my 2 nephews Glenn aged 14 & Connor aged 9 came to stay from Bolton. They came on Christmas Eve arriving about 3pm, I did the ‘Mums got to Iceland’ & bought the party platters so we had a nice buffet in the evening, I got a bit stressed as couldn’t get everything to cook quick enough so had to ask Adam to help me as he used to be a chef, so between us we got everyhing done. Adam had worked all day too bless him and he was cooking the big dinner for Christmas. I’d spent most of the day cleaning the house & changing beds. As we have a 3 bedroomed house we had to purchase 2 blow up airbeds to put in the dining room & living room for people to sleep on – bodies everywhere but was so worth it as had a lovely time with my family. Just wish my brother Paul, his wife Vanessa & my 2 year old neice Jessica could have come too but they had just moved into their new home in the summer so wanted to spend Christmas there which is understandable.

Presents

Mum

Christmas morning was bedlam, first we had to get Kim up out of her airbed on the lounge floor & that took some doing, put the bed away & make room for present time. Once everyone was up & we had a brew the present opening started. Kim played Santa & gave everyone their presents. We were all very happy with our presents but my lounge looked like a train wreck. We soon cleared away all the paper & empy boxes & settled down to have some breakfast. The kids went off to play with their presents in the dining room so we just relaxed & watched TV. Adam was in the kitchen preparing the dinner – he didn’t stop all day. He did a fantastic job & dinner was sensational.

One of my presents was a framed photo of my favourite cruise ship ‘Celebrity Eclipse’ to go on the wall in my office – I love it & it looks great.

Only one little hick-up, after I had set the table for dinner with champagne glasses, crackers, candles etc – Stann-Lee,  one of my cats jumped on the table & it all came crashing down – luckily only 1 glass broken. My motto – animals & Christmas do not go together!! I’m lucky my tree is still standing with 4 cats in the house. All turned out well in the end. Even Patch got in the Christmas spirit & wore 3 paper hats – they didn’t last long but looked good all the same.

Boxing Day was a trip into town to take the boys shopping as we didn’t know what to buy them so let them choose themselves, we had a look around the shops & of course the ‘NEXT’ sale where myself & Janet bought some clothes. Adam took the boys off to the game shops whilst us girls went for coffee.  It was a very productive but tiring day. We’d had lunch out too so just turkey (of course) sandwiches for tea & a few nibbles. Then to relax for the evening.

Poor Adam had to go back to work on Thursday & Janet, Glenn & Connor were going home to Bolton. Luckily my mum is staying till 12th January so thats lovely! The house was so quiet after 1pm when they had gone so myself & mum had a pyjama day & watched TV all afternoon – it was bliss. We had a lovely catch up & put the world to rights.

After my week off with my family I am raring to go to start booking your cruise for the forthcoming year so please give me a call on 0800 408 6108 or email me at [email protected] and I will be more than happy to find you that perfect cruise.

I hope each & every one of you had a fantastic Christmas.

I’d like to wish you all a ‘Happy New Year’ & I look forward to speaking to you in 2013.
