Greek Islands Cruise – totally awesome!

I have just returned this week from my annual holiday onboard Celebrity Reflection.  Myself and my husband Adam did 10 nights around Italy & Greek Islands.  It was a fantastic itinerary and we had a wonderful time.

Once we had got through Rome airport which was hectic and one of the worst airports I’ve ever travelled to/from.  It took almost 2 hours from landing to getting on the transfer coach.  My advice is to make sure you are there early or even better stay the night before, we wish we had done this now especially as high season.

The transfer took just under an hour so wasn’t too bad, check in was very smooth and quick and we were on board in no time. As it was after 2 pm our cabin was ready so off we went to find it.

We had a C3 concierge cabin number 1065 on port side towards the front of the ship, quite near the lift so a very good location. Concierge cabins are the same size as a balcony but with a few little extras, e.g. priority boarding at the terminal, Concierge service desk on board to assist you with any queries, dinner reservations etc.  We also had afternoon snacks delivered every afternoon and a welcome bottle of champagne. Binoculars in the cabin also for use whilst on the cruise & on land.

I have been on other Celebrity ships and the Reflection is very similar to the Eclipse we went on 3 years ago with a few variations but still beautiful all the same.

The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you, very friendly, excellent service from all of them. Our cabin steward was great, even offered us a kettle for our cabin so at least I could have my cup of tea on the balcony in a morning – brilliant work Bonnie!

We headed off to get some lunch and a well-deserved glass of vino & a beer for Adam. Our favourite spot was the ‘Mast Bar’ on deck 15 forward as the staff there were fantastic and soon got to know us and what we wanted to drink. This was near enough to nip down a deck for a dip in the pool. Sunbeds up here also so nice and relaxing.  It was a full ship so the pool area was very busy as over 600 kids on board.

There are plenty of areas to relax and sunbathe away from the pool and also and also an indoor pool area for adults only, so we went in here on sea days when the pool was very busy.

Celebrity Reflection has the lawn area on board which is on deck 15 aft with a lovely bar ‘Sunset Bar’ – there is real grass in this area that you can also relax on. This area was different to Eclipse with Cabanas called ‘Alcoves’ which you can pre-book for the day from 9 am – 9 pm. They fit up to 6 people.  Here is what you get:-

Port Days – US$99 per alcove
Sea Days – US$249 per alcove
Fresh fruits skewers/fruit popsicles
All day Room service menu available
Choice of: Veuve Rose, Grey Goose, or bottle of white wine
Bucket of 6 assorted beers
4 Bottles of Evian Ltr
Butler service (phone available)
Chilled towels
Complimentary viewing of films of the Lawn Club (if booking on a Taste of Film evening).

The ship was kept very clean and tidy at all times.

We had a wonderful time on board and visited the most amazing places and I would recommend this cruise to my friends, family & customers.

The food was also amazing but I will cover that & entertainment in my next blog as so much to talk about.

I will also cover the ports we visited over the coming weeks.

A few more pics for you, until next time – Happy Cruising!
