The Amadeus Difference! What a FAB time On Board!!

One of the reasons I love working for Cruise.co.uk is the fact that I am able to experience different cruise lines and what they have to offer. Last week from the 30th March – 2nd April I was fortunate enough to travel to Amsterdam and join the beautiful MS Amadeus Queen. The ship was due to sail on the 31st March, Silvana and I arrived on the 30th so we decided to spend the evening in The Hague. The Hague is such a beautiful area of the Netherlands and I would definitely recommend a visit if you have a few days around Amsterdam, it is only a short 30-minute train journey from Amsterdam airport.

Staterooms Onboard Amadeus Queen

There are three stateroom decks onboard MS Amadeus Queen, these are; Haydn Deck (Lower Deck), Strauss Deck (Middle Deck) and the Mozart Deck (Upper Deck). Silvana and I stayed in cabin 203 which is a B-1 Cabin on Strauss Deck. The cabin was lovely, I loved the drop-down panoramic window which you are able to open. There was a great walk-in wardrobe which is very handy and the bathrooms were the largest bathrooms that I have seen onboard a cruise, both ocean and river. No matter which grade of cabin you go for, you will not be disappointed.

Ports that we visited
  • Amsterdam, The Netherlands – We were lucky enough to be in Amsterdam during the Tulip Festival. We visited the Flower Market and also managed to get some fun photos as you can see below. In Amsterdam, a lot of the buildings lean forward slightly. Our tour guide told us why this was. Due to the narrow stairways, furniture would be lifted in through the balcony or living room windows, which is also why there is a pulley on the front of a lot of the buildings. Amsterdam is definitely a great city to visit.
  • Antwerp, Belgium – Antwerp is a very interesting city. We took a walking tour through the city and visited the ‘Cathedral of Our Lady Antwerp’. There is a lot of history surrounding the city of Antwerp and I would recomend the walking tour.
  • Rotterdam, The Netherlands – We left Rotterdam in the morning but Rotterdam is a picturesque city. There are many places to visit, such as; The Euromast Tower, Rotterdam Zoo or the Harbour.
Fun in Amsterdam and Antwerp.
