Oklahoma is OK!! This is Oklahoma’s Slogan & I love it!!

This past week I headed over to Oklahoma and many people definitely gave me a strange look when I said I was going there on holiday. However, there is definitely quite a bit to see there and it ended up being a really fun week. We managed to do many fun things throughout the week, I have included below the main sights to see if you ever find yourself in or around Oklahoma.

Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge spans a massive 59,000 acres. The whole area is stunning. Many people travel to the refuge to see animals, go hiking, swimming and for many other activities. Whilst I was there I saw many different animals and it was lovely to see them all in the open space. There are gorgeous waterfalls which many people swam in and they definitely looked inviting. Whilst I was in Oklahoma, I visited the refuge on three separate occasions and I went to a different spot each time. It was my favourite place that we visited.

Oklahoma Science Museum

The Science Museum in Oklahoma is the best Science Museum I have seen and I have seen many around the world. Everything throughout the museum is completely interactive which makes it such a fun experience. I played around with sound and even went in both an earthquake and tornado simulator. I definitely don’t fancy experiencing either of those for real. If you are ever in Oklahoma City than this Science Museum should definitely be at the top of your list to visit.

 Oklahoma City Zoo

Oklahoma City Zoo is said to have over 1900 different species of animals. I, of course, did not see all of these but I saw quite a few. I couldn’t believe the entrance price either, it was only $11 for an adult ticket and $8 for children and senior citizens. These prices are for general admission. The zoo spans 119 acres and it is easily walkable. My favourite animal of the day was definitely the Bears. We saw a bear walk over to the river inside the enclosure and the bear looked like it was loving the sunshine and then rolled into the water for a little swim.

Before my flight home, I even managed to head down to Texas for a quick visit. Right on the border between Oklahoma and Texas, you have the Red River, which is a natural phenomenon that has turned red from the red soil that is carried through during floods.
