Emirates!! Hello Tomorrow; Fly Better!!

In May 2018 I was due to spend a day at Birmingham airport and experience all things Emirates so I was gutted when it was cancelled due to bad weather. So in true travel agent style, I thought I would be cheeky and message Emirates on Facebook in anticipation of my flights in November. I wanted the opportunity to take pictures onboard the aircraft and have a visit to their airport lounge. Emirates did not disappoint. At check-in, there was a note on my booking to let me have priority through the airport and access to their airport lounge which is usually approximately £93 depending on the exchange rate from UAE Dirham.

At every point in the airport, the staff were expecting me which was really cool. When I got to the gate, I waited with the other passengers that had priority boarding. I was taken on by myself before any other passengers and I was given a full tour of the aircraft. We first headed upstairs to the First and Business Class cabins and oh my god it was crazy. I got to see the bathroom on board complete with shower and I was shown the bar at the back of the plane.

I wasn’t lucky enough to get a free upgrade so I was then taken back down to economy class. However, they did change my seat number so that I had a row of 3 seats to myself, which was great as I was able to lay down and have a great sleep. What was even more fantastic was that I managed to get a row of 3 seats for my return flight too. Which meant that I was very well rested throughout my travels.

I had booked all of my flights with Emirates but from Jakarta to Singapore and Singapore to Bangkok we were on a codeshare with Jetstar. The Emirates experience was definitely carried across. Each flight was only around 2 hours but I was given a brand new blanket and a full travel amenity kit to take away. It was definitely a VIP experience.
