All about Vietnam – Ava’s Country Information!!

If you have read my about me page than you will know that I have been to Vietnam. I have been three times and I love the country. I have put together a few of the MUST See’s whilst you’re in Vietnam.

Some of the sights that I have visited;

Ho Chi Minh City – Ho Chi Minh City is an amazing city. From seeing Vietnamese people carry fridge-freezers on their mopeds to shopping in Ben Thanh Market. There are lots of things to see and experience. Some of the other places that you can see are; Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, Saigon Zoo & Botanical Gardens and Independence Palace also knows as the Reunification Palace which was home to the President of Southern Vietnam. There are many more, but these were my favourite.

Cu Chi Tunnels – These tunnels are where the Vietnamese people lived during the Vietnamese War. They are a network of connecting underground tunnels. They have a man-mad 50ft tunnel that they have enlarged slightly for tourists to experience the tunnels for themselves. I went down into the tunnel and it was very small and I came out after the 25ft as it is quite claustrophobic but i’m glad I experienced it. I used the flash on my camera for light as it was pitch black. It is crazy to imagine people living in the the tunnels for many years. At the same site you also get to see many of the traps they set for the opposing army. Some of them were brutal. Overall, a visit to the Cu Chi tunnels is definitely worth it, it’s amazing to experience the history up close.

Mekong Delta River – This River is a maze of different rivers, islands and swamps. You can also visit the floating markets. It was such a great and unique experience and I got some great pictures as you can see below.

Mui Ne – Mui Ne is a gorgeous beach resort in the South East part of Vietnam. It is such a great contrast between the streets in the town to the beach. It is like stepping through a portal to another country. It is stunning. I stayed at the Mia Resort whilst I was there which was incredible. If you get chance to travel to Mui New another sight to consider is Fairy Stream which are beautiful waterfalls within Phan Thiet.

Ha Long Bay – In Hanoi, you can sail through the jungle on a junk boat. I haven’t made my way up to Hanoi yet but I can’t wait to go. Ha Long Bay is in the North East of Vietnam. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Emerald waters and rain-forests are a very popular attraction.
