Star Of The Seas Has Finally Arrived!

Royal Caribbean's epic new Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas, has finally made its grand debut!

The 5,610-guest capacity ship sailed away on its first-ever cruise from Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, at a star-studded ceremony, including being named by astronaut Kellie Gerardi. The research astronaut swapped space for sea as she bestowed safekeeping onto the ship, its crew and millions of holiday-makers who will sail on her during the naming ceremony.

“I’m honoured to celebrate Royal Caribbean’s new Star of the Seas in such a beautiful naming ceremony as godmother – a tradition that is close to my heart and a spirit that spans both sea and space. A vacation on Star is the perfect combination of two of my biggest passions in life, a spirit of exploration and quality time with family, and I can’t wait for this journey to begin,” said Kellie Gerardi, godmother of Star of the Seas.

After her inaugural cruise, Star of the Seas will be voyaging on an array of sun-soaked itineraries in the Caribbean, including stops at Royal Caribbean's very own private island Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.

As well as visiting inspiring destinations, guests onboard the new ship can expect to dive into 8 themed "neighbourhoods", more than 40 spots to dine and drink, and six waterslides at the enormous Category 6 waterpark.
