Sun-worshippers rejoice: MSC Cruises has unveiled a significant expansion to its Caribbean operations. Speaking at Fitur, the International Tourism Trade Fair in Madrid, the cruise line revealed plans to establish a brand-new homeport in La Romana, Dominican Republic, operating a brand-new itinerary year-round starting in November 2026.

This marks the first time MSC Cruises has offered year-round sailings in the Southern Caribbean, giving British travellers even more flexibility to escape the grey skies whenever they choose.

A New Chapter for MSC Opera

The classic MSC Opera will be the vessel delivering these tropical getaways. The ship is set to operate weekly departures, offering a flexible "butterfly" itinerary.

This allows guests to book a standard seven-night sailing or combine two distinct routes for a back-to-back 14-night holiday, exploring different islands each week without changing cabins.
