Holland America Line Reveals Zuiderdam as Next Ship in Major Fleet Evolution

• Holland America Evolution: Zuiderdam becomes the second of six ships undergoing the largest fleet update in the line's 153-year history.

Holland America Line has announced Zuiderdam as the next vessel selected for its Holland America Evolution programme.

The initiative represents the largest fleet enhancement project in the cruise line’s 153-year history, bringing signature Pinnacle Class experiences and updated accommodation options to ships across the fleet.

Following the initial announcement of Oosterdam, Zuiderdam is the second of six ships revealed in the programme. Bookings for Zuiderdam’s post-transformation voyages open on 30th July 2026.

New Suites and Staterooms Expand Choice

As part of the refurbishment, Zuiderdam will introduce brand-new accommodation categories alongside refreshed staterooms throughout the ship, giving guests more variety in how they travel.

Key accommodation additions include:

• Bridgeview Suites: Two brand-new suites situated directly above the bridge, featuring wraparound windows, private balconies, forward-facing panoramic views, and separate living and sleeping areas.

• Solo Verandahs: 32 purpose-built staterooms designed specifically for independent travellers, each featuring a private balcony and tailored living space for one guest.

• Vista Suites: 14 light-filled suites, a guest favourite from the Pinnacle Class, featuring a sitting area, oversized windows, and a private verandah.

• Reimagined Pinnacle Suite: The ship’s premier accommodation is being completely redesigned to offer a residential-style feel, featuring high-end finishes, generous living spaces, and expansive ocean views.

The Fan-Favourite Grand Dutch Café Arrives

A major highlight of the onboard transformation is the addition of the Grand Dutch Café. Inspired by Holland America Line's rich Dutch heritage and the casual café culture of Amsterdam, the venue serves as an all-day social hub on board.

Guests can visit for morning espresso, afternoon local beers and spirits, or light evening bites. The venue created for Zuiderdam will be the largest Grand Dutch Café introduced across the entire Evolution programme, offering ample seating and a relaxed atmosphere.

Oosterdam Leads the Fleet Rollout

While Zuiderdam prepares for its transformation, Oosterdam will be the very first ship in the fleet to debut its Evolution enhancements.

Bookings are already open for Oosterdam’s initial post-refurbishment season, giving travellers their first opportunity to experience the updated suites, solo staterooms, and upgraded public spaces.
