Celebrity Cruises Announces Sixth Edge Class Ship

Celebrity Cruises has revealed that a sixth Edge Series ship will join the cruise line's fleet in 2028.

This exciting news comes after an agreement between Royal Caribbean Group and Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard for the construction of the new vessel.

Edge 6, or "Xcel 2" will be the sister ship to Celebrity Xcel, which is set to embark on its inaugural sailing later this year. The new ship will also join other Edge Series ships in Celebrity's fleet including Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Apex, and Celebrity Edge- the first ship in the series, delivered in 2018.

Celebrity Cruises' Edge Series has transformed the onboard experience for guests, bringing them closer to destinations with state-of-the-art features such as the iconic Magic Carpet® (the world’s first cantilevered, floating platform at sea), offering a unique way to dine, drink, and connect with destinations. Other Edge Series amenities include Infinite Veranda® staterooms, which remove the boundaries between ship and shore.

The sixth ship in the Celebrity's Edge Series lineup will incorporate the series’ key features and make room for other yet-to-be-announced innovations.
