Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed the first look at Norwegian Aura, its largest ship to date and the newest evolution of the Prima Plus Class.

Launching in May 2027, the vessel is packed with groundbreaking wellness spaces, brand-new dining concepts, and expansive activity zones designed to give cruisers total freedom at sea.

Next-Level Wellness at the Mandara Spa

Spanning two decks, the Rockwell Group-designed Mandara Spa creates a nature-inspired sanctuary featuring cave-like retreats, cascading water features, and forest-canopy design elements.

At its heart is the most expansive Thermal Suite in the fleet, offering 15 distinct contrast-therapy wellness experiences designed to restore energy and soothe muscles.

A standout addition is the industry's first Sensory Rain Pool, a 360-degree experience that transforms from calm waters to tropical rainfall and a dramatic thunderstorm, complete with lightning effects and rolling thunder sounds.

Cruisers can also experience a Blue Glow Suite for post-travel recovery, a Snow Cave layered with fresh white powder, a Reflection Pool with ocean views, and a dedicated Foot Spa.

Guests can also unwind across dedicated relaxation zones, including a Himalayan Salt Room, Meditation Lounge, Aromatic Steam Room, Finnish Sauna, Charcoal Sauna, and Zen Lounge.

Beyond the thermal circuit, the facility houses 24 treatment rooms, a full-service salon, a Skin Lab, and advanced medi-spa options offering acupuncture, IV therapy, and vitality-boosting NAD+ injections.

Brand-New Culinary Concepts and Expanded Favourites

Norwegian Aura boasts 22 food and beverage venues across more than 10 global cuisines. Leading the culinary news is Tamara, the first dedicated Indian speciality restaurant for Norwegian Cruise Line.

Inspired by the popular Indian dishes served at Indulge Food Hall, Tamara features open-view tandoor ovens and serves regional delicacies like Short-Rib Dosa, Lamb Biryani, and tableside Green Papaya Salad.

Complimentary dining also gets a high-tech upgrade with The Panorama Room, a new venue utilising synchronised LED screens and multi-channel audio to transform surroundings as guests dine. Meanwhile, main dining venue Hudson's returns with an elevated design and 270-degree ocean views.

Cruisers will also find redesigned layouts and expanded seating across returning favourites, including Le Bistro (French), Sukhothai (Thai), Palomar (Mediterranean), Onda by Scarpetta (Italian), Cagney's Steakhouse, and hibachi hotspot Hasuki.

Indulge Food Hall returns with nine stations, including a new Middle Eastern concept, complimentary Mexican choices inspired by Los Lobos, Q Texas Smokehouse, Planterie, and Nudls. For nearly round-the-clock comfort food, The Local Bar & Grill also returns to serve up classic pub fare.

For guests staying in The Haven, the private keycard-access enclave, Studio DADO has redesigned The Haven Bar, Lounge, and Restaurant as a tranquil oasis surrounded by soft earth tones, a lush canopy of trees, and delicate finishes.

Ocean Heights and Expanded Public Spaces

Family action centres around Ocean Heights, an outdoor activity hub equipped with six waterslides, the 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, the multi-level Moon Climber, and carnival-style games at Aura Midway alongside a nine-hole mini-golf course.

At night, the entire zone transforms with dynamic LED projections and lighting. Overlooking Vibe Beach Club, the ship introduces the line's first overhanging cabanas complete with a private dedicated bar.

Everyday social spaces have been expanded throughout the vessel. The central Penrose Bar & Atrium features more than double the seating of previous ships alongside a dedicated stage for daily entertainment.

Cruisers can also gather at the eco-conscious Metropolitan Bar, Swirl Wine Bar, Belvedere Bar, Whiskey Bar, or the colourful poolside Daybreak Bar on Deck 18.

Inaugural 2027 and 2028 Itineraries

Norwegian Aura will set sail on her maiden voyage on 21st May 2027, offering a 7-day Mediterranean cruise from Trieste to Barcelona before embarking on a 13-day Transatlantic crossing to Miami.

For the summer of 2027 and 2028, she will run week-long Eastern Caribbean itineraries visiting Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Great Stirrup Cay. During winter 2027/28, the vessel will pivot to Western Caribbean voyages, calling at Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Harvest Caye in Belize.

From immersive thunderstorm rain pools to authentic tandoor cooking at sea, Norwegian Aura promises an incredible mix of relaxation and adventure for every type of traveller.
