Bridgett’s Festive Review: Onboard Ambition

I recently hopped on board Ambition for a festive mini-cruise to explore the Christmas markets. Here is exactly what I thought of the experience!

What was your experience like, overall, onboard Ambition?

My overall experience was excellent! For a mini-cruise it was just perfect, the length of time we had in the ports was spot on. It gave us plenty of time to see the markets in Bruges and Antwerp and get back to the ship without feeling like we were on a timer.

What was the service like onboard Ambition?

The service was absolutely exceptional. Every member of the staff I encountered was so friendly and helpful. It’s that personal touch that makes a cruise feel special.

What was your cabin like onboard Ambition, did it feature any amenities?

Our cabin (an outside cabin) had plenty of room. Even though it wasn't the most lavish room I've ever stayed in, it was perfectly comfortable and had everything we needed for a short break.

What was the food like onboard Ambition?

I’d say it was generally good, but on some nights, it was absolutely excellent! It really depended on the menu that evening, but when it was good, it was really impressive.

My go-to drink onboard has to be a Spiced Rum. I also loved getting a Latte during the day to warm up. For food, while the buffet is handy, my favourite place to eat was definitely the Holyrood Restaurant. The service and the atmosphere there just made the meals feel that much more special.

What was the entertainment like onboard Ambition?

The entertainment was excellent! It wasn't just about the evening shows; they kept us busy during the day, too. I loved that they had quizzes and Bingo running throughout the day.

What was it like to cruise at Christmas on board Ambition?

It was so festive! The Christmas decorations were lovely and really put everyone in the holiday spirit. The Christmas meal we had on the second night in the Holyrood Restaurant was very nice too - exactly what you’d want from a festive dinner.

A real highlight for me was The Cavern, it had such a brilliant Christmas feel with all the songs playing, and everyone joined in for a sing-along.
