All-New Norwegian Aura Revealed: NCL's Largest Ship Yet

Norwegian Cruise Line is ready to outdo itself once again. The cruise line has officially unveiled Norwegian Aura, the next evolution in its fleet, set to launch in May 2027.

This isn't just another ship; it is set to be the longest and largest vessel in the NCL fleet. Measuring nearly 1,130 feet long and 168,000 gross tons, Norwegian Aura will be approximately 10% larger than her predecessors, Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna.

Designed to accommodate 3,840 guests, she promises to take the "Prima Plus" class to new heights - literally.

Introducing Ocean Heights: The Ultimate Activity Hub

The headline feature of Norwegian Aura is the brand-new Ocean Heights. Spanning decks 18 to 21, this open-air complex is designed to be the heart of the action.

• The Slides: It will boast the most slides of any NCL ship (five in total), including the Eclipse Racers - NCL's first-ever duelling mat racer slides stretching over 400 feet.

• The Thrills: For the brave, the Aura Free Fall drop-slide returns, plunging guests down 250 feet. There is also The Wave, a pendulum-style raft ride for groups, and the famous The Drop dry slide that rushes 10 decks down the side of the ship.

• The Fun: The area also features an 82-foot ropes course, a climbing wall, a mini-golf course, and Aura Midway - a carnival-style game area.

• Day to Night: As the sun sets, immersive lighting and LED projections will transform Ocean Heights into a vibrant evening venue.

Expanded Spaces for Everyone

NCL has used the extra space on Norwegian Aura to expand guest favourites.

• Ocean Boulevard: The popular wraparound promenade on deck 8 has been extended by 11%. It now features more seating, new hot tubs, a new bar, and dedicated play areas for kids (Adventure Alley) and teens (Teen Hangout) at the forward end.

• Pool Deck: The main pool deck will be the largest in the fleet (20% larger than Norwegian Aqua), featuring more seating, an extra infinity hot tub, and a larger entertainment screen.

• Vibe Beach Club: The adults-only retreat has also grown by 15%, offering more lounge space and a new waterfall feature.

The Haven: Elevated Luxury

For those seeking exclusivity, The Haven on Norwegian Aura will be the largest yet. It features 159 suites (30% more than previous ships), all designed by renowned architect Piero Lissoni.

Guests will enjoy a dedicated sundeck with an infinity pool, private elevator access, and 24-hour butler service.

Where Will She Sail?

Norwegian Aura will make her grand debut in Europe with a 7-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste to Barcelona on May 21, 2027.

Following this, Norwegian Aura will embark on a 14-day transatlantic voyage to reposition to North America, arriving in Miami to begin her main deployment.

Starting June 2027, the ship will homeport in Miami year-round, offering two distinct 7-day itineraries:

• Eastern Caribbean: 7-day sailings to Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Great Stirrup Cay.

• Western Caribbean: Winter 2027/28 sailings to Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Harvest Caye.

Crucially, these Caribbean itineraries will visit NCL's enhanced private destinations, including the newly upgraded Great Stirrup Cay, which is set to debut a new waterpark and river experience in 2026.
