Off on my Holidays

By the time this is posted I will be on my way to Fort Lauderdale ready for my first holiday of the year. My husband and I will be travelling to Gatwick on Wednesday 3 April for an overnight stay ready for our flight to Fort Lauderdale on Thursday 4th April. We will be staying at the Ocean B Resort for 3 nights and then we will be joining Celebrity Edge on Sunday 7 March for 7 Nights cruising around the Caribbean. Although I have now racked up 50+ cruises I have never been to the Caribbean so I am really looking forward to it. We will be staying in an Infinity Balcony so it will be interesting to see what I think of this new cabin type that Celebrity have introduced on the Edge Class Ships.

We will be visiting San Juan in Puerto Rico, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and Philipsburg in St Maartan. Although we havent booked any excursions  we are planning to do things in the ports of calls. In St Maartan we are planning to go to Mayo Beach on the Dutch Side of the Island which is situated adjacent to the Princess Juliana International Airport. Due to the beach being close to the airport this is one of the few places in the world where aircraft can be viewed in their flight path just outside the end of the runway. This is such a popular tourist attraction that airline timetables are displayed on board in most bars and restaurants on the beach!

In Tortola I would really like to swim with the Dolphins but we will have to wait and see on that one and in San Juan I am looking forward to looking around the Old Town

Whilst we are on the ship we have booked the Roof Top Garden for dinner one evening which carries a $45pp cover charge so it will be intersting to see if it it worth it.

Im not going to wish my holiday away but look forward to telling you all about the dofferent experiences including the dining and entertainment and what we got upto on the Islands.
