Princess Cruises onto our TV Screens……

The fly on the wall series , The Cruise, is back on the television and what a fab behind the scenes look into what goes on behind the scenes in one of the worlds largest luxury cruise ships.

I settled down to watch it last night and it didn’t disappoint. Filming on the Royal Princess, it follows the life on board for the 1200 staff members and passengers going about their daily business.

This series the ship is navigating its way round the med and taking in some breathtaking stops , and you can see it all from the comfort of your lounge.

Last nights dramas were based in the Bellini bar running out of Prosecco – a fairly important ingredient in the making of a Bellini cocktail. The bar man was on the hunt for some spare bottles but could only russel up three or four on the entire ship. He said it had been a particularly busy afternoon and they had already got through five bottles of the fizz but to be honest with you , considering the ship holds 3,600 passengers I thought that wasn’t a lot….I mean my friends and I can get through that in a couple of hours !!

The other big drama going on was there was a big health and safety inspection on board so the kitchens were frantically cleaning every nook and cranny making sure that they passed with flying colours.

I can happily say that the ship passed and it was actually noted as having one of the cleanest kitchens at sea, so for any of you travelling on there in the future you know that everything is ship shape in that department.

I have been on this ship before when she was first launched back in 2012 and I have to say I thought she was absolutely stunning.

I loved the layout of the ship and the decor,  it had a real modern luxury feel to it.

On board this ship they have the seawalk which is a walkway that hangs over the sea with a glass floor (it sounds scarier then it is !!) It gives you a perfect view and a real sense of walking on water.

I think the most stunning part of the ship has to be the Piazza , the hub of the ship it’s a three story Italian designed atrium that has  a real touch of elegance and comes alive a night with entertainment , singers and dancing.

If you have never experienced Princess before then I would definitely recommend them and certainly this ship.

Its not gimmicky in some ways of other cruise-lines it just delivers a traditional way of cruising at a very high standard.

Watch the show when it airs again and see for yourself what a lovely ship it is.
