Hens in Benidorm !

What a week !! I’ve just returned from my hen party in Benidorm , I’m pleased to advise i’m still in one piece ..just !!

I’m getting married in Mexico next month so myself and seven friends decided to go for a four night break in Benidorm.

Now for those of you that have never been to Benidorm it is a place, of what I can only describe as light and shade. What I mean by this is that you have the old town of Benidorm where you have your local bars and tavernas , beautiful restaurants overlooking the sea and it really is lovely . Then you have the new town , down Levante beach where you have all the bars and nightclubs and this is where all the partying and crowds gather.

We stayed at a lovely hotel just on the outskirts of the old town called Agua Azul. It was an adults only hotel that had been recently refurbished. It was really chilled here and a lot of the guests were a bit older ,  but we loved this as it was very calm and relaxing down by the pool. We were originally booked full board but when we arrived we decided to upgrade to the All Inclusive as it was only an extra 21 euros a day so well worth it. The buffet spread at the hotel was fantastic and every day for lunch and dinner there was so much choice and various different options. They had a grill cooking fresh prawns , steak and meats. They had a sushi bar every evening and they also did a fresh paella every night. It really was great for all the food and drinks included.

The main aim of the trip was for us all to relax and chill in the day. Most of us have kids ,  so to get the chance to lounge and read a good book was lovely.

On the evenings we decided to have a mix of one night partying and one night sophisticated !!

As i said the bars and restaurants in the old town were lovely and we had some lovely cocktails out on a balcony on a bar taking in the views .

The party nights were a bit more wild and if you have ever stumbled down the main party area of Benidorm called the strip then you would know why. Because there are so many bars and clubs they are all fighting to pull you in. They offer you lots of free drinks to come in and once you venture inside the music is very loud and lots and lots of people dancing and partying.

We had such a great time though with lots of laughing and dancing and we managed to stay out until the early hours of the morning , which wasn’t bad for us oldies.

Overall i had such a great time with my friends and felt so lucky that I could take the time to celebrate with some of my oldest pals. Us moms are usually whizzing about here , there and everywhere so we really did make the most of having some time to enjoy the break and unwind.

I would definitely recommend to try Benidorm as the beaches there are beautiful , wall to wall sunshine and really very reasonable for food and drinks. Maybe stay closer to the old town though as the strip and new town is really very lively and full of hens and stags so not everyone’s cup of tea for a quiet getaway.

Now the countdown begins for Mexico and my wedding. Six weeks to go and we really cant wait !
