P&O Say No to Gratuities

This new revelation from P&O seems to be confusing some people.

So, let’s set the record straight.

Question: Are P&O giving free gratuities from May 2020?

Answer:  No, they have just abolishing gratuities altogether not giving them free!

Question: Are they adding them into the Cost of the Cruise?

Answer: No, cruise prices that were out prior to the announcement for 2019 have not risen in price despite what the sceptics may have thought.

Question: Does this mean that the service standards will slip as the staff are getting less money?

Answer: No, P&O will still offer the same level of service that we have come to expect from them.

Question: Can I still tip if I want to?

Answer: Tipping staff is neither required nor expected but if you choose to do so then that’s entirely your decision.

Question: Why have P&O decided to do this now?

Answer: To make life simpler for the passengers.

To be honest P&O’s Gratuities were never that expensive compared to some cruise lines,

but in general, gratuities just seem to make people uncomfortable,

and although in most cases you can go and have them removed this again makes people feel awkward

so this bold new move from P&O should make customers very happy.
