CRUISE SAGA

What do I mean?  Well, I am not referring to a novel or a drama that has occurred.

However, the Word Saga means “a long story of heroic achievement”

I am talking about one of the best-kept secrets in Cruising and this term certainly does describe them to a tee.

Saga Cruises are exclusively for the over 50’s and I know that’s just what some people are looking for when they cruise.

In their words. ‘At Saga, we aim to make your holiday experience as simple and convenient as possible. From the ambience on the ship to the services on offer, it’s all designed to help you relax and enjoy a memorable getaway. Plus, with our inspiring choice of destinations, we can take you to the famous sights as well as some hidden gems along the way.’

Their new Ship Spirit of Discovery which is due to launch in just a few months caters exclusively for the British Market.  Every cabin will have a Balcony and don’t get me wrong we are not saying they are the cheapest option, but you get a lot for your money.

Includes FREE pre-paid gratuities, FREE speciality dining, FREE choice of wine and beer during lunch and dinner and unlimited Ta and coffee. FREE Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service, Afternoon tea, travel insurance and much more! In addition to this, you don’t even need to think about getting to the port as they provide VIP chauffeur transfers that will pick you up within a 250-mile radius from home and transport you to the ship and back again of course.

The ship itself is a smaller ship with only 900 passengers giving it that boutique feel. Along with her sister ship Spirit of Adventure, they are expedition class so built to tackle arctic waters.

For the geeks among you who like your stats, the crew will number 512 so a 2 to 1 passenger to crew ratio.

She is the company’s first ever new build cruise ship, so is brand new,  not a remodelled ship from another fleet. She is 58000 tonnes and 775 feet in length.

She has some beautiful features including her relaxing Spa
