P&O will launch new ship Iona in 2020….

and she will be the largest of their fleet, a huge 180,000 tons carrying 5200 passengers! Iona, as she has been named, will be the largest ship to be ever built for the British cruise market! Such exciting news from P&O and Iona is already eagerly awaited, P&O have promised more details about this new ship to be released soon!

I love the new name for their new ship and think it’s perfectly fitting, she’s been named after an island in the Inner Hebrides, the name was actually announced by Stephen Mulhern after the winning name was selected from a competition launched last year from which P&O received over 30,000 entries! The lucky winner will also receive two VIP tickets to the launch…how fantastic not only a ship named by you but VIP invites to the launch.

Iona is set to impress P&O passengers new & old I’m sure. With no less than fifteen places to eat on board! There will be eight speciality restaurants alone so you will never be short on choice. There will be ten bars and lounges, again lots of choice for everyone. On board will be four swimming pools, one of which will be an indoor pool and an impressive eighteen whirlpools. I’m sure there are going to be lots of unique features which P&O will release in due course.

Entertainment is sure to be impressive on board such a huge ship and there will be plenty to choose from, being announced over the coming months, what we do know is there will be adult only entertainment venues on board which I personally think are a great idea. I’m sure P&O will have some amazing new entertainment venues/ innovations for their brand new ship and I for one really can’t wait to find out more.

Iona will be on sale in September this year so do get in touch if you think she is going to be a ship you would like to experience and of course keep an eye on our website and my page as there will be lots of exciting information on it’s way from P&O . Watch this space.

As always thanks for reading, until next time Abbi. x
