My two nights on board Symphony of the Seas= AMAZING

As you know I was lucky enough to spend two nights on board Symphony of the Seas last week.  I had very high expectations and I can honestly say I was blown away by the ship. it really was amazing. So much to tell you about Symphony and everything that she has to offer.

First impressions on seeing Symphony moored at Barcelona port next to Marella Celebration was that I couldn’t believe the sheer size. I knew Symphony was a huge ship but until you are stood in port and looking up at the 18 decks …wow it really does blow your mind.

Symphony is ultra-modern, maintaining the glitz and glamour of a Royal Caribbean ship, with so many different pieces of art and lots of sculptures to see. I loved all the paintings and prints that you see as you walk between decks, every deck having something so different and so colourful.  On the Royal Promenade one of my favourites pieces,  a red metal ball which on closer inspection is actually a Volkswagen Beetle crushed into a ball , lots of innovative displays like this are found all around the ship.

One thing for sure is that on board Symphony you will be entertained day and night no matter what your age and taste. There really is so much to do and the choices are endless.  In the short space of time I was on board we watched a show in the Royal Theatre and we also saw a production in the Aqua theatre and both were brilliant.

Hairspray in the Royal Theatre was fantastic and I was so impressed.  So professional and by far the best show I have seen on board a ship. I could have easily been sat in London’s West End. The director said that over 6000 people were interviewed for just 25  parts in the show, the cast really were talented!

The AquaTheatre show was one of my highlights, the photos don’t do it justice it was breath-taking and the divers and synchronised swimmers really did put on an amazing show. The pool they use is the deepest pool at sea and you see why when you see the heights they are diving from.  It’s one of those fantastic experiences that stays with you forever from your cruise. The AquaTheatre is at the end of the Boardwalk , one of my favourite parts of the ship.

On board there are seven different neighbourhoods which gives you an idea of the sheer size of the ship. One of my favourites as I said was the Boardwalk. Lively and full of atmosphere, you step onto the Boardwalk and your first sight is the carousel, a definite hit with the children. There’s Johnny Rockets, the Playmakers sports bar serving the most delicious mini burgers , spicy chicken wings  and cheesy chips. Sugar beach is the sweet and ice cream shop on board with every variety of sweet and ice cream you can imagine. Whilst we were on board there was a Boardwalk party, with circus games, a guy playing on his piano, a candy floss stall, all adding to the atmosphere.

On the Boardwalk is the end of the Ultimate Abyss, this a vertical drop slide, the drop is 100 ft from deck 16 to deck 6!!  I’m sorry to say that I wasn’t brave enough to try this, my fear of heights got the better of me, but for those thrill seekers out there this is perfect.

There is also the famous rock climbing wall, and I was pleased to see the child friendly version for those too small to go on the big wall. So all in all I loved the Boardwalk and I’m sure it’s going to be a hit with all passengers young and old.

Next time I will be telling you more about Symphony so stay tuned….I hope you enjoy all my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Thanks for reading as always Abbi x
