Back from Majorca….

and we had a really fantastic time, the only problem was that it went way too fast, as all holidays usually do. Puerto d’Alcudia was the resort we stayed in and I loved it as did all the family. We were on the outskirts of Alcudia centre which, to be honest suited us perfectly. It was quieter than the centre but with plenty to do and we avoided the very very busy part of the resort.

The highlight for me was the beach, our apartments were perfectly located about 5 minutes walk to the beach. I think especially when travelling with children it’s so handy to be close to the beach. I know in previous years we have been further away around 20/30 minutes which doesn’t sound like a long way until you are trying to do it in the boiling sun with little ones not wanting to walk. This year it was so much easier and the little walk was just enough for Sofia. I love spending time at the beach rather than sitting by the pool so this year was great as we did spend a lot of time at the beach. The beach is beautiful, spotlessly clean with white sand and clear water, and the water was so shallow as you walked out so perfect for the kids. They loved swimming and you could relax that they were safe.

The choice of restaurants was another highlight and most nights we sat on the beach having our evening meals with the most beautiful views. I love trying out a different restaurant each evening rather than staying in the hotel and I think if you choose to do All Inclusive this is what you tend to do and miss out on the local restaurants. We were only 10 minutes from the port and this was packed full of great restaurants and bars to eat. Usually there was live music and little market stalls and of course the views over the port were fantastic.

The old town of Alcudia is just as it was over 20 years ago, it’s unspoilt and we had a lovely morning exploring. The church is out of this world as you can see from the photos full of gold statues all very grand and ornate. We chose a day when the local market was on. The market was great and we did lots of haggling which is always interesting!

We did a boat trip on our last day which took us right along the north coast of the island with stops for swimming and snorkelling. We all really enjoyed this and the coastline really is beautiful. Jumping off the boat into the sea and exploring the caves was a great experience and Sofia loved this. I thought she might be a little scared but she is fearless as kids are so really loved it.

All in all, we had a really fantastic holiday and for anyone travelling with a family it’s a great resort to look at. It had everything you could want and with only a short flight to Palma it was really easy with the little ones. I hope you enjoy all my photos, now time to look at booking our cruise for next year!

Thanks for reading as always, until next time Abbi x
