Almost time for Symphony of the Seas…

and I’m way beyond excited! Next week I will be going away with my sister for our two night cruise on board the biggest & newest ship in the world…Symphony of the Seas!

We’ll be heading to Barcelona one of my favourite cities and we’re hoping to make time for a glass of wine sitting in a bar on the famous Las Ramblas and a little bit of sightseeing before we get on board.

Then it will be onto this amazing new ship.  It’s always so exciting when a new ship is launched and to be a part of it makes it even more exciting. Symphony will be the biggest ship I have been on in all my years of cruising, she will carry over 5000 passengers and 2200 staff!  At 228 000 tonnes & 362 metres long…what a ship!  It’s taken two years for her to be built and next week will be her maiden voyage.

We are lucky to have an ocean view balcony cabin so it’ll be breakfast in the sun I hope next week.  Over the past days I have been looking at just what will be on board …there is everything as you would expect and more…from the zip wire, huge water slides including the Ultimate Abyss and The Perfect Storm .

There is the ice rink, flow rider, the robotic bar, a full size basket ball court. There will be “laser tag” on board which I’m guessing will be a popular attraction. There will be twenty six bars and lounges! I’m not sure we will have time in two days to sample them all but we will be giving it a good try! There are four swimming pools and also the kids water park Splashaway Bay.
Symphony is packed full with so much to see and do and I really can’t wait to experience such a huge ship, I’m expecting to be blown away and my expectations are set high….so watch this space.

There will be no less than seven neighbourhood’s to explore, one of which is the Boardwalk and will feature an ice-cream and sweet shop called Sugar Beach, I will definately be trying this out. I’m also really looking forward to the Aquatheatre, a venue I haven’t experienced yet but have heard lots of great things about.

So as I said watch this space and next time  I promise to tell you all about Symphony of the Seas and of course there will be lots and lots of photos too.

Thanks as always for reading Abbi x
