Independence gets some new additions!!

Independence of the Seas – voted the best ship sailing out of Southampton will be undergoing a multi-million pound make-over bringing some amazing new additions to bring her up to the modern standards of the newer ships.

I sailed on her last August with my family and had an amazing holiday. We all loved the ship, providing something for each of us. The ship was looking a little tired so its no great surprise she is having a refit. She entered service in April 2008 so definitely time to have some modern touches added.

Here are some of the big changes:

The H20 Zone is going to be redone and turned into the signature Splashaway Bay Water Park, as featured on their newer ships.
 The addition of 2 new wild waterslides
An exciting Escape Room to really get the brains going
Izumi – the amazing Japanese dining experience with tableside show cooking
Fish and Ships – a new fish and chip shop great for the Brits!
Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade – great for the dads onboard
Laser tag experience for the competitive onboard
Sugar Beach Candy and Icecream shop – a fab new place to dive into lots of sweet delights
Sky Pad is going to be an amazing out-of-this-world bungee trampoline experience where guests will wear a virtual reality headset and feel like they are bouncing through various scenarios including the moon!
Panoramic Staterooms – these will feature floor to ceiling panoramic windows in the cabin giving guests amazing ocean views!
She will also be keeping some of her old signatures like the ice skating rink and rock climbing walls.
