Majestic …. She was!

On the 31st March 2018 along with a few of my cruise dot buddies we set off to Italy to meet the newest member of the Princess Fleet the Majestic! and my overall thoughts are just WOWWWWW!!!!!  Arriving in Trieste the skies were blue and sun was shinning, for this very special day. The locals had turned out in their thousands to the quarryside for sail-away  to see Captain Dino Sagani (who grew up in Trieste) take  the helm of his new ship.

This Royal Class 146,000 ton beauty holds  3,560 passengers and has been purposely designed for the Asian market. A few of the unique features the Majestic boasts are  a poolside noodle bar and Dim Sum bar to replace the traditional grill and pizza bars, state of the art karaoke rooms, Cantonese restaurant, Water color fantasy show and larger casino space.

Here are a few of the highlights for me………….

Piazzo Atrium is a fantastic heart of the ship.

Top deck pool area fabulous for sunny sea days or relaxing in port.

Ever changing art work- I loved spending time walking about the ship as every deck had totally different art some modern, some tradional, some fun and some just a little strange. But they all added to the character of the new vessel.

(Although note to self i’m not sure you are suppose to touch the art work)

Karaoke suites.- Now i fear these may come back to bite me on the behind later this year at our annual conference but they were great fun. $12 per person for 1 hour karaoke fun in this you also received a drink up to the value of $8 and canapes. (I won’t deafen you with the videos)

Pool by day/ Club by night- Majestic Princess does not have a seperate nightclub area due to the market she has been designed for however the indoor pool doubles up as a night time venue which was a  fantastic setting for the evening.

Our cabin for the weekend was on Aloha Deck 12 in aft. We had a clear view standard balcony. Much like her sister ships in the Royal class they have taken away the outside cabins in favour of more Balcony cabins (80% of the ships cabins are infact now balconies) .  Our cabin was light and comfortable with ample space for storing our belongings. Sleeping and luxury comfort are a big selling point for Princess which is why they enlisted the help of World famous sleep expert doctor Dr Breus, who’s has been giving them tips when it cam to ordering their deluxe matresses, pillows and bedding. For me the bed was something i was really looking forward to, after my exprience last year on the Caribbean Princess I have never had such a great night sleep and the beds on Majestic did not dissapoint.

So as well as some exciting new features to the Royal Class vessel, she still keep some of her classic favourites

Seawalk-  This is the first time i have experienced the 60 foot long glass walkway hovering 128 above sea level. Although a  little scary i was mismerised by the view of the seawalk.

Movie under the stars (and now sun) – The open air pool side amphitheater is the place to be for big screen entertainment. Thoughout the day and night you will be able to see feature films, big sporting events and even concerts from the comfort of your sun lounger. During the day enjoy milk and cookies and by night get cosy with fleece blankets , hot chocolate and fresh pop corn.

Big Stage entertainment- Whilst on board we were treated to a evening of live music preformed by the “Tenors of Rock”. This is the second time i have seen their show and they just seem to get better every time. The ultramodern theatre is the Largest in the Princess fleet with comforty seats of which every position is totally unobstructed for a great view with state of the art lighting. Here they will host artists from around the world for big state broadway style shows.

On top of all these exciting features we were treated to 4 nights of fine dining including my all time favourite “Crown Grill” I was in heaven, but i don’t want to bombard you will all the fantastic details. Join me over the next few weeks for when i tell you all about our culinary delights, how beautiful Kotor was and also about our eye opening tour of the M1 where we really got to see where all your gratuties really go.

Until Next time
