Living the American Dream part 2!

So following on from my last blog, for the second part of our holiday we spend two fantastic weeks in Walt Disney world. We stayed 2 weeks at Disney’s Caribbean Beach which is a return trip for us as we stayed there back in 2005 for our Honeymoon, and it is still just as Beautiful.
The hotel itself is one of the largest resorts broken down into Caribbean islands we were in Barbados which for us was prime location for getting the to parks via the complementary Disney Transportation service.

Our room as always with Disney accommodation was a good size with two large double sized beds and a secret Mickey mouse bed to accommodate a 5th guest. The room also has a fridge, coffee maker, bath, shower dressing area, small table and chairs area and lastly a large TV with a great range of channel including obviously the Disney channel for the kids.

The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and with recent tragic event Disney have had there was obvious changes that have been made and safety was at the forefront of these changes.

Once we were literally “armed” with our Magic bands for everything from park entrances, key to room , room charging, photo pass, fast passes and much much more we were ready to go.

I could talk for hours about what I love about Walt Disney but I am going to limit this to my top 3 new experiences.

1/ O’Hana’s our favourite restaurant

During our stay we upgraded our free quick service dining to the Dining plan. By doing this we opened ourselves up to so many new dining options. Prior to travel we spent hours researching menus and reviews and our reached paid off. Every restaurant we choose was fantastic however the stand out choice was O’Hanas which is a resort dining experience offering traditional Hawaiian cuisine at the Disney’s Polynesian resort. There we were treated to the most amazing meal, the highlights being pineapple bread, green salad with Passion fruit dressing, pork dumplings,  and the officially voted number 1 dessert in the whole of Disney pineapple and banana bread and butter pudding with banana foster sauce mmmmmmmm.

During our meal the entertainment was great fun our children took part in Coconut racing around the beautiful restaurant with little brooms, plus live singing accompanied but a ukulele which my daughter is learning was delighted to see.

We actually choose to return during our stay two more times once for breakfast with Lilo and stitch then once again for an evening meal. Their service wasnt just outstanding this we are used to in Disney but we felt welcomed. If you are visiting Disney O’Hana is recommended.

2/Evening Spectacular’s

I may be bias but I don’t think anyone in the world does fireworks better than Disney. Magic Kingdom’s “wishes” actually reduces me to tears I love them so much. So when i heard there would be a new firework show in Hollywood studios were showing casing a new Starwars show as much as i’m not the biggest fan of the much loved film i knew it would be great i wasnt prepared for just how amazing they would be.

3/ Growing with Disney

Each time we visit Orlando we have a different experience and this is due to my children’s ages. The older and braver they get the more rides they can try, this is why I dont think you can ever get bored going back time after time. This year was the certainly all about big trill rides and probably the biggest my eldest conquered was Summit Plummet in Disney’s Blizzard Beach, its huge vertical drop makes it one of the biggest flume in the world.  All i can say is she must get her courage from her dad you wouldn’t catch me up there.

I really do believe Orlando is an amazing destination and combined with a cruise you have the recipe for an amazing holiday. So if you would like to learn more about cruise and stay package to including Walt Disney world or Universal please to not hesitate to call me for advised on 0330 303 8260.

Next time in my last instalment find out how one day made a “nine year Marie’s” dreams came true…………………..

Until next time

Marie
