ALEXA play me gummy bears…………………..

It seems over the past few months MSC have been making weekly announcements about whats new with their brand and this week is no different and in a ‘cruise line first’ MSC tell us they will be installing  Amazon Alexa-style virtual assistants in every cabin.

They haven’t offically names the new device but it will be exclusivley on board the brand new Bellisima next March before it is introduced to the entire fleet gradually over the next 5 years.

Chief executive Gianni Onorato  said “It’s a first for the cruise industry, It will be customised for life on board our ships and for each individual guest. For us it’s about creating a deep interaction with customers and making sure they love their cruise experience.”

Now… we as a family love a gadget and recently invested in our own family Echo dot and so far we have only got as far as

ALEXA……… What is the time?

ALEXA…….. Can you Beat box?

ALEXA……. Add kitchen roll to my shopping list!

And my neices favourite ALEXA….. Play the gummy bears song!

So what sort of benefits  do we think a similar divice would offer to cruise passengers. Here are some of my ideas……

BELLISIMA……. What is the show tonight in the theatre?

BELLISIMA………… What time is casino open till today?

BELLISIMA ………..Can you order me a club sandwich on room service?

BELLISIMA……What is the house cocktail of the day?

The list could be endless and with the modern day tech taking over the world, why not add them to the modern day ships, I think its a great idea.
