NCL go All Inclusive, literally ‘All’.

Norwegian Cruise Line for quite a few months have been doing free drinks packages with almost all their sailings recently, it looks like that may have been a trial to see how customers reacted to it, and if it was a trial then what a brave move.

An American style 4 star cruise brand Norwegian Cruise line have visited Southampton on a few occasions, most recently just for the odd days as part of the movement of their big brand new ships leaving dry docks in Germany on it’s way to the US. I managed to spend 2 days on the Getaway and as well as being an amazing ship i was also very impressed with the evening entertainment, the food and the general lay out.

Norwegian Cruise line (NCL) always like to do things a little differently to most other cruise lines and their Freestyle type cruising option has been very popular with many cruisers.

With no mandatory formal dress nights and being able to eat where you like, when you like it has been a good option for people who don’t find the more traditional cruise line styles appealing.

NCL drinks prices on-board can be quite high, mainly down to the American dollar rate as well as this is the gratuity charges added on.

Well here comes the change.

Drinks and gratuity costs and poor exchange rates will not be an issue with NCL anymore as they have announced that going forward from the 6th April 2017 their cruises will all be all-inclusive. A premium drinks package and gratuities will be included in all fares for UK passengers at least.

These fares will also be available in other countries but these do not include the US as yet.

NCL have had special offers going on for sometime now which have meant most guests could have included a drinks package as part of their deal on all cabin types, so that did work well in terms of trialing this I should imagine. Rather than to have this as a continuous special offer it does make more sense to just make the brand all-inclusive I think.

What do you think? Is this the kind of cruise package you are looking for?

And to make things better NCL are doing a full summer programme this year out of Southampton.
