P&O Adonia is back, many happy customers

Last year P&O announced that Adonia was off to pastures new for a stint in the Caribbean, as a sort of working/giving back type of cruise, my understanding of it. Basically,  you go on the cruise, and for the first time children would be allowed, visiting the islands and helping with projects where the locals were trying to improve things, all very gallant, just not my cup of tea.

I work 60 odd hours a week, sometimes more , sometimes less, not sure about everyone else, but I want my holiday to be all about me, I know that sounds awful, but its the blinding truth of the matter.

So I am now not feeling so bad , as shes back.  Now no-one has made any ground shaking announcements but the smart part of my brain is saying most people must have felt the same as me, no shocker there then !

She has been around for a while, had a complete refit for joining “fathom” in 2016, the programme designed to work alongside local communities in the Dominican and Cuba. Not much has been said , did it fail?  I did think at the time, here I am helping Mr & Mrs not so well off, maybe living in tents and shanty housing, I thought it was a little patronising to get off my luxury ship, go and help them , then get back on board and eat in one sitting what they would use for a week, whoever had this brainstorm obviously had not thought it through, as I said earlier not for me.

And so it seems not for many people, I doubt we will ever know facts or figures or why they decided to “end” the Fathom project,  but loyal Adonia passengers won’t care, they are just glad she is back, as the sales for this summer out of Southampton have proven .

Adult only and a smaller ship, she has  definitely filled a gap for many people.

WELCOME HOME ADONIA
