Cunard Accessible cabins , how many are there on Queen Mary ?

Accessible cabins are always difficult to find  , on some cruise lines its as easy as ticking a box and only these cabins will appear. We wish this to be the case with Cunard/P&O/Princess who all operate on the same booking system. Every grade has to be checked, and when there can be 30 different grades this becomes a time consuming project. Even then , there are not as many as you think , remember these are the fully accessible cabins with adapted bathrooms, in fact here is a full description

Features of a fully accessible cabin

All of our accessible cabins feature wide doorways into the cabin and bathroom, as well as sufficient floor space for wheelchair manoeuvrability. All accessible balcony cabins feature ramped access to the balcony. The bathrooms in all accessible cabins are wet room style shower rooms with a flush threshold into the cabin and grab rails for shower and toilet as well as a pull down shower chair.

Now this is the Queen Mary, you will surprised to see there are not many with all of these features

Unbelievable that there are only 32 cabins in total, remember these are fully accessible, the problem arises with the new rules bought out some time ago if you are taking a motorised scooter you HAVE TO book an accessible cabin, so even if you do not really need the wet room, you have no choice.  Just as an indication of how low this is , QM has 1363 cabins in total !!!!

Late deals are a no go, unless you can manage with a collapsible wheelchair and no wet room, in which case you can have any cabin , but the wheelchair has to be stored inside and not in the corridor.

If this has interested you and you would like the information on the other two queens , let me know, drop me an email  [email protected]
