Have you got the name for the new P&O Ship!

P&O Cruises recently announced that that would be building a 9th ship to join the P&O Fleet in 2020. This comes only two years after the Britannia was released and I am pleased to say that after quite a few problems she has become a firm favourite in the P&O Fleet.

Hopefully P&O will take forward the feedback on Britannia but we are yet to see what this new ship will look like; all P&O have said is that she will be 180,000 Gross tons and carry 5,200 Guests. This is the largest ship ever built for the UK Market and she will also be one of the largest ships in the World competing with the likes of Royal Caribbean, Oasis Class and MSC Meraviglia Class of ships, but many have said that they think this is too big for P&O – what do you think?

They have also said that the new vessel will be the first in the P&O fleet to by powered by Liquefied Natural Gas – (LNG) which is more environmentally friendly.

Now in an exciting addition to this P&O have given YOU the chance to name this new ship. As a winner, you will get two VIP tickets to attend the naming ceremony so you may be amongst Royalty!

The competition is already running and will close on the 31st July 2017

P&o Cruises – Paul Ludlow said,

“This new ship will be the first new launch for P&O Cruises in five years and will play a pivotal role in redefining the brand and broadening our appeal. It is therefore incredibly important that we have a name that reflects the ship’s heritage as well as highlighting the array of new cruising experiences it will offer – something memorable and dignified that reflects its position as the new star in our fleet.”

They have also pulled in to help us come up with ideals stars such as Food Hero’s Olly Smith and Eric Lanlard and Jonathan Wilkes who is a Producer and Performer for P&O and the Godmother of the Azura – Darcey Bussell to create a series of four short videos so something to look out for.

So what are you waiting for – thinking caps on!
