New cruise lines set to visit Cuba in 2017

All three of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings brands have been given approval by the government of the Republic of Cuba to start operating cruises to the island. This is set to start in March 2017.

According to a statement, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line will all sail to Cuba next year!

I’ve had so many people asking about cruises to Cuba and the choice has been so limited for so long so this is great news for those that want to visit the island.

I went on a land based holiday to Cuba a few years ago and it’s a beautiful island. The children loved it too.

The ships set to visit Cuba are Oceania’s Marina after setting off from Miami on 7th March 2017, Regent’s Mariner with two calls in April and NCL Sky who will offer a selection of four day cruises which will feature overnight stays in Havana during May 2017.

President and Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd, Frank Del Rio said in a statement:

“We are tremendously excited to have all three of our award-winning brands receive approval from the Cuban authorities to offer cruises to Cuba from the United States. As a Cuban-American and founder of Oceania Cruises, I am incredibly proud that one of Oceania’s vessels will be our company’s first to sail to Cuba. This is truly a dream come true for me, and I cannot wait for our loyal guests to experience the sights and sounds of my hometown of Havana and get to know its rich culture and its warm and welcoming residents.”

There will be a selection of excursions to choose from which will all offer an authentic Ccuban experience so that you can learn more about the art, history and people of Cuba – all of which are in compliance with OFAC regulations.

Exciting news! Who wants to cruise to Cuba?
