MSC Divina to be featured in new TV show

As many of you will know, I sailed on MSC Divina a couple of years ago in the Caribbean with a colleague and we loved every minute of it.  It completely changed my opinion of MSC after hearing many bad reports (although they were about the older ships).

I also sailed on MSC Preziosa a few weeks beforehand and that cruise was equally as good.

Yesterday, I heard that MSC Divina is to be featured in a new TV show airing on Channel 5.

Jane McDonald will present the show in which she sets out to experience the cruise holiday in the Caribbean.

The TV presenter first rose to fame when she appeared in the reality TV show, ‘The Cruise’ way back in 1998.  She’s spent 18 years out of the cruising world but will now appear in the travel show, made up of four parts. The show is called ‘Cruising with Jane McDonald. She’ll be aiming to discover what has changed in the cruising world since she was last on a ship and discovering why cruising is continuing to be such a popular holiday choice with millions of people choosing to cruise every year, many of them more than once a year.

MSC Divina is featured as the first part of the series and was the first cruise she took. It was a 7 night sailing from Miami around the Caribbean (sounds familiar). Although the itinerary Jane took is the one which sails to the Bahamas (Nassau), St Maarten and San Juan in Puerto Rico before returning to Miami.

MSC Divina is currently sailing year round from Miami with various Caribbean itineraries – usually Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean.

MSC also have other ships in the Caribbean sailing from Havana – a new one for them with lots of other cruise lines now starting to sail to Cuba.

The show will also explore how and why the cruise industry is booming. The industry has seen huge growth is the last few years and is expected to rise to over 25 million passengers globally a year by the end of 2017, compared to just under 18 million passengers globally in 2009.

The show will first air on Friday, February 10th at 9pm on Channel 5.

Will you be tuning in?
