What is Bliss at sea?

NCL will be having their 16^th ship built and it will be Bliss. Not that I know this for sure and in advance but the name of the ship will be the NCL Bliss. I certainly hope it lives up to its name. I’ve not experienced NCL myself and I would like to. I’m not sure I’m so keen on the resort casual. I do like a formal evening and I do like to put on a shirt and tie and make an effort for dining. Not every night but I think that’s what cruising use to be all about. The formal nights at sea. I do worry some cruise lines will end up like Ocean Village if they’re not careful and we all remember they were known for the slogan “For those who don’t do cruises”

I’ve got a good feeling about this latest ship in the NCL fleet. She’ll be sailing in June 2018 and will be covering the Caribbean and Alaska. NCL quote this as going to be the their most incredible ship at sea. Every cruise line says that about their new ships to be fair. So, what’s going to be new for this ship and does anything stand out to suggest it will be bliss? Bliss to me suggests, peace and tranquillity, relaxing, possibly Adults only and just chilled out, the go slow and fine service and if I saw a cruise advertise all that I’d say yeah that sounds bliss.

So NCL, what is all the hype with Bliss? Not all announced will be revealed just yet and of course we will have to wait until customers have been aboard and reviews are written.

The NCL Bliss will be a large ship, it will hold around 4000 passengers and isn’t Adults only, so that’s one off my Bliss list. Not that I have anything against kids at all. The Bliss will be the first to have a Race Track at sea. 1000m of track and with 4 speed settings from novice through to the more advanced drivers and with speed reaching 30mph. At sea on a track of a 1000m I think that’s pretty impressive but not bliss. However, these cars are electric and are silent too so there shouldn’t be disturbing anyone so I suppose you could still be enjoying a blissful moment without the sound of feeling like you’re at the formula one.

The ship will have an Aqua park over two multi storeys waterslides and the kids will have a splash academy along with the usual water cannons and slides. There will be lots of eating choices, French & Mexican Cuisine, Fine Italian dining and a Cheeseburger at Jimmy’s Buffets to name a few.

More will be revealed in due course. I think the ship will do well and especially with families as NCL are very good for families. Are you booked on this yet? Anyone who sails please let me know what your thoughts are I’d really like to know if the experience lives up to being Bliss and appropriate to its name.
