As I was going to St Ives…..

As I was going to St Ives I didn’t meet a man with seven wives, each with kits, cats, sacks & wives it was just me and my wife that went to St Ives.

First annual leave break this year and not abroad but to the beautiful place of St Ives in Cornwall. I had been promising my wife for years that I would take her back so debt paid. To be honest I have never enjoyed holidays in the U.K not even city breaks, I like to go abroad and feel like I’ve had a holiday but to be fair I really enjoyed St Ives. The place was beautiful. You could almost believe that you were in the Caribbean when the sun shines over the sea. So Blue & Green. I was very impressed.

We rented a little cottage with a view over the harbour and I couldn’t have picked a nicer house. It had a lovely loft conversion and with sunrise and sunset it was perfect.

We booked this through Aspect Holidays, specialists in Cornwall. It was a long drive from Shropshire and with a stop on the way down a good 5/6 hour journey. Well worth it though.

To go this time of the year I enjoyed as the weather was ok. We had a couple of sunny days and some rain but it was expected it was April after all. I’m not sure I would want to come in the height of the summer though. I could just imagine how busy it would be. I look at the beaches in Benidorm or at Spring break and think to myself way too crowded and it would be my worst nightmare so this was nice. Not so busy and 4 days was just about right for me. It was nice to go out and explore all the local beaches and walk around the town. Quite funny seeing the locals how they live it kind of made you feel you were on holiday as obviously very different to back home.

So, if you’re considering a U.K break and don’t mind out of season and a gamble with the home weather then I would recommend St Ives all day. Lovely place and well worth going.
