What Fred Olsen is really like

I have travelled with Fred Olsen and i can say i was very impressed. I had had a general idea of small, old, dated and not a lively atmosphere on board but they proved me wrong. Surprisingly i found lovely comfortable ships, welcoming staff, great food and great entertainment.

Fred doesn’t attract families due to no child friendly activities on board. They mainly attract the more mature generation especially longer cruises.

The staff is superb and very welcoming and attentive as you would expect on a small friendly ship. The shows are fantastic and it’s nice to see the waiting staff having a good time whilst the shows are on by singing and dancing along. On each Fred Olsen Ship there is a talented production cast made up of 10 singers and dancers offering a high standard of shows with many costume changes. As well as shows Fred Olsen works with agents providing performances offering cabaret act ranging from comics to magic acts and vocalists.

They have full guest speaker programs with very knowledgeable lectures with first hand experience are invited on board to speak about the destinations the ship is going to visit. On cruises with more sea days they also have classes on board, like painting, acting, singing dancing or playing and instrument

All in all I would go back again and i would recommend it to the right clientele
