Clara the camper

After spending 10 years living out of a suitcase overseas many of my customers know that I love heading off to the coast for a bit of Great British sunshine. Me and my partner Mark have recently treated ourselves to a camper van. Now when I say camper van let’s call it more of a motor home, I think we must be the youngest motorhome owners on the planet. We would have loved an old VW or a T5 but when looking into things in a bit more detail we realised with Mark being 6ft2 his legs would most probably be sticking out of the back door.

After several years of airbeds and sleeping bags we realised our tent days were over!!!!!

We had great fun in finding the right van for us by texting photos through to our friends and family of all the vans we dreamed of buying…..

and eventually settled on a private sale from just down the road in Stourbridge.

We’ve named our van Clara and it is safe to say she has been the most popular vehicle in our road over the last few weeks. All our neighbours have been round to christen her and she has seen her fair share of glasses of wine and beer throughout the month of August, many of which have been consumed on our front drive.

We’ve took her to the motorhome show in Malvern a couple of weeks ago where we were enticed to purchase every van accessory ever designed and spent last weekend at the Sunshine festival in Upton on Severn with our family where we housed not only ourselves but 3 children under the age of seven who could not believe we had water running out of taps and a TV in the middle of a field. The Disney movies went on until the early hours of the morning including the midnight feasts.

When you can cook a breakfast as good as this in a field who needs gourmet meals!!

It’s safe to say Clara has become part of the family like knight riders trusty side kick Kit and we are looking forward to many more road trips to come. Even though we didn’t end up buying my dream VW camper van I was more than happy with the hand knitted cushion my Mom made me for my Birthday instead.
