Adonia causes a stir….

ADONIA-At-Sea-19After badgering on for the last three years about the lack of small ships on offer to cruisers I was delighted to hear recently that P&O have brought back the good old favorite Adonia to their growing fleet. So many of my passengers were really sad to see her go but are now extremely pleased she is back where she belongs.

Many of my maturer passengers find these new monster ships just too big and don’t want a ship with 14 different restaurants & 10 different entertainment venues, they just like to keep it simple. I’ve talked to so many passengers over the last few years with the feeling that cruise lines have been happy to have good past passengers invest their hard earned cash into the cruise industry for the last 60 years but when it comes to giving them a ship that is a suitable size for their needs, they just don’t want to know.

Well I’m pleased that P&O have finally listened to public demand and brought back a small ship to rejoin the fleet and keep there past passengers happy.

The cruises went on sale this week and some sailings are already fully booked, hopefully this will give P&O the idea that bigger is not always better, would they rather have a small ship selling out in 24 hours or a 4000 passenger ship sailing with empty cabins and price war conversations on board.

If you prefer smaller ships and have not yet tried the Adonia she is fantastic choice with a guest capacity of just over 700 passengers. She is covering a wide selection of brand new itineraries next year and is able to get into many different and unusual ports that will just not entertain the big ships.

It is safe to say I am a big fan of small ships and can’t wait for my past passengers to let me know how they get on next year.
