Adonia Returns to Southampton

P&O cruise ship Adonia is returning to the fleet after being away for a year on secondment to social impact brand Fathom, the revamped Adults only ship will start a series of itineraries stating with a 7 Night cruise to Bordeaux, Honfleur and Guernsey.

Adonia was operated for Fathom to run the first US sailings from Miami to Cuba in nearly 50 Years from Last may alternating with Departures to the Dominican Republic, Fathom brand no longer has a dedicated ship with social impact activities spread across other ships operated by parent company Carnival corporation.

I think this is brilliant that she is now coming back to the UK as many of my customer’s loved the Adonia, she is a lovely little ship with only 704 Passengers and her being Adults Only this is really good news for P&O and the UK, many people don’t like the big ships like the Ventura, Azura and Britannia people like a smaller ship, plus when the cruise ships are that bit smaller they can go to many different ports that the big cruise ships can’t get to.

Adonia crossed the Atlantic without passengers, reaching Portland in Dorset on the 14 June for a quick was and brush-up before being welcomed back home in Southampton the next day by a fire tug shooting jets of water, In November she will be going over to Barbados for her fly program of 14 Nights itineraries.

Have you been on the Adonia what do you think of her? is she a lovely ship and are you happy she’s back in the UK I think like I said above that this is really good for the UK market and for P&O as I know that many of my customer’s have missed this ship and would welcome her back.

Did you travel down to Southampton to see her come in? let me know your thoughts on this.
