The UK’s favourite family ship gets a make over

The Independence of the seas first sailed over 10 years ago now and has spent most of the summer months sailing out of Southampton. The ship is purpose built to deal with all sorts of weather and is very popular with the Brits.

It doesn’t matter who you ask about the Independence… they always have great feedback and find it hard to look at other ships as an alternative.

Just recently, however a few have said the carpets are a bit worn in the cabins, could do with a lick of paint, the smoke from the casino is bothering guests.

So the news about the old favourite Royal Caribbean ship, has come as a lovely surprise to loyal customers.

The multi million pound refurbishment or revitalization will take place in April 2018 just before the busy season in Southampton.

The ship will receive a full make-over and there are a few extra features to be added.

The most exciting being a trampoline park! Trampolining has become so popular over the last 18 months. There are centres being open all over the local towns and cities close to where I live and even pop up parks as part of fun fair attractions. Even when I went to Spain last month there were trampolines in 1 of the complexes.

Water slides. This is extra to the already popular H2O zone water park

Escape room. Already on the Harmony of the seas, gets a group together to solve the puzzles in order to escape! Sounds a little scary to me!

Laser tag. Sounds interesting! I am sure the teens will love this!

What do you think of the plans for the Independence of the seas?

Sounds like those booked on are in for a real treat!
