We say hello to the year of the rooster and goodbye to the year of the monkey!

Manchester embraced Chinese New year over the weekend with a dragon parade from Albert square to Chinatown and a firework display to end the celebrations. I could hear the fireworks over 6 miles away! Must have been amazing!

Beijing is the capital of China and is where most tourist head to when touring China.

Badaling is located 1 ½ hour drive from Beijing and is the most visited section of the Great Wall of China.

Visitor numbers can be as high as 70,000 people in a single day!

Not to be missed is a visit to the Ming Dynasty Tombs. The path is lined with pairs of giant statues.

The walk itself is an experience and represents the Emperor’s path leading to heaven.

The Summer Palace is also a big tourist attractions which host the largest preserved gardens, lakes and palaces in the world.

Also known as the museum of royal gardens.

Shanghai is located in the South of China and is where most cruises depart from.

The bustling city is home to over 21 million people! No wonder it is described as bustling!

The stunning skyline with skyscrapers attract more and more tourist to Shanghai every year!

Just over a 2 hour flight from Shanghai is Xian home of the Terracotta warriors and horses.

The 8000 statues were made to guard the tomb of the first Emperor of China.

A replica was set up in Exchange square in Manchester with 40 brightly coloured statues originally built for the Beijing Olympics in 2008, the statues have travelled the globe to celebrate.
