The Yangtze plunges from the Tibetan Plateau to flow through no few than 11 provinces and numerous major cities on its 3915 mile journey through the beautiful and dramatic Three Gorges, which boasts some of the worlds most spectacular landscapes, with misty mountains, lush green Bamboo groves and serene riverbanks, on its way to Shanghai and the East China Sea.
Perhaps the most impressive part of the Yangtze is the Three Gorges - Qutang, Wuxia and Xiling. The largest gorges on the Yangtze - stretching 150 miles - are the Qutang Gorge, the shortest and narrowest of the three with the most spectacular scenery, the Wu (Witches) Gorge, noted for its magnificent lush green mountains frequently shrouded in mist, and the Xiling Gorge, at 47 miles the longest of the three, with narrow, precipitous cliffs.
The Yangtze River, as well as supporting the people who live along side its bank, has also threatened them with the risk of flooding. The Three Dam gorges, originally envisioned by China's first president Sun Yat-Sun, will help control flooding along the Yangtze. The rainy season in China is spilt between the north and south of the river. The rainy season in the South is May & June and in the North it is July & August - meaning a four month flooding season. Due to the monumental scale and ambitions nature of the project, The Dam is one of the highlights for many sailing along the Yangtze. As well as preventing flooding, The Dam is expected to produce 22,500 mw of hydroelectric power and to facilitate shipping by raising the water level.

Visit the mouth of the Yangtze, Shanghai and explore the Old Town, Old Shanghai, experience a silk carpet workshop tour and visit the Shanghai Museum. Stop at Shibaozhai for a tour of Shibaozhai temple. Next of to Xian and discover the Terracotta Army before finishing at Beijing to walk the Great Wall of China, visit Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden city and the Summer Palace.

We have just returned
from a five night cruise
on Liberty of the Seas.
There were 8 of us in our
group - one of whom had
never cruised before. We
travelled to Barcelona
the day before in order
to avoid any last minute
rush...
Returned yesterday from a
12 night Mediterranean
Venice Cruise on board
the beautiful CELEBRITY
SOLSTICE. We embarked on
the Solstice in Barcelona
after a rather cramped
flight with Monarch from
Gatwick Airport...
My wife & I travelled
on Ancient Wonders on
Celebration, 2nd time on
ship,different cruise,
same cabin.
Good flight but coach
broke down on way to
Marmaris so 1 hour late
arriving. quick check in,
everyone else had
obviously done so
already...
had a cruise with thomson
in april this year on the
island escape , this is
the fourth time we have
cruised with them , the
cabins were small for
cruising in ,they would
have been ok for an
overnight crossing on a
ferry which is what the
island escape was ,...
My husband and I had only
cruised twice before.
The first time on Golden
Princess to Alaska and
two years ago a Med
cruise on Grand Princess.
We had loved both so
decided on this 17 night
Adriatic cruise on Grand
Princess and were not
disappointed...
We have just returned
from the Cunard 5 day
spring getaway (23/05).
Overall the trip, food
and service were
excellent but were
wondering how
confidential the
questionnaire is when
completed at the end of
the cruise...
We sailed on IOS May 9th
2012 to the Canaries. We
being myself and my Wife,
mother in Law and her
best friend. My wife and

the ship was launched.
Not much has changed, the
