Experience one of the world most tranquil and peaceful waterways, whilest discovering the hidden wonders Ukraine has to offer. Explore the vibrant cultues that Ukraine thrives on, visit the Monastery of Cave in Kive, the White Paace in Yalta and the Potemkin Steps in Odessa.
The waterways of Ukraine are among the most peaceful in the world. On a Dnieper River Cruise you can experience the best the Ukraine has to offer. The Dnieper originates at the foot of the Valdai Hills to the northwest of Russia's capital, Moscow. The River then continues through Russia, Belarus and Ukraine before emptying into the Black Sea at the town of Kherson.
The Dnieper is the third largest river in Europe, after The Volga and The Danube, at 1420 miles long, with 680 miles in Ukraine. The River Dnieper was once known as the Amber route, due to the fact that when the Vikings invaded, in the 8th Century, they settled in parts of Ukraine & Russia and established the first trading posts. This provided access to the markets of the Orient via the Dnieper.
Once shrouded in mystery, the treasures of Ukraine are waiting to be discovered. Follow in the footsteps of the Cossacks along Ukraine's River Dnieper and explore Yalta's white palace, the monastery of the caves in Kiev and the Potemkin Steps in Odessa. See historic cathedrals and monasteries, monuments to Vladimir Lenin, displays of legendary traditional horsemanship and museums displaying artefacts from by gone eras. Visit the marble 'Fountain of Tears' in the 16th century, Turkish influenced, Khan Palace in Bachtischisarai.
