Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruises are next to increase their gratuity charges

It seems so common these days that I am seeing cruise lines rise their gratuity charges. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises are the next to announce they will raise theirs.

For passengers who book their cruise prepay their gratuities before the 2nd January 2018 they will remain unaffected at their current rate.

For any new bookings, gratuities added to existing bookings or gratuities charged on board these will now rise to the following levels.

Royal Caribbean

$14.50 per person per day for standard accommodation up from $13.50 per person per day.

$17.50 per person per day for suites up from $16.50 per person per day.

Celebrity Cruises

$14.50 per person per day for standard accommodation up from $13.50 per person per day.

$15.00 per person per day for Concierge and Aqua Class up from $14.00 per person per day.

$18.00 per person per day for suites up from $17.00 per person per day.

It was inevitable that this would happen and should imagine it will continue to do so in line with other cruise companies.

Although I never like to see prices go up it’s not going to make a big difference really.
