P&O Oriana refurbishment announced, about time too

The most common feedback I get from P&O Oriana is that she needs a bit of tlc in some areas, which of course is second to that the ship has a base of elderly clientele, this should’t be a surprise though on an adult only, traditional, British mid-sized ship sailing out of Southampton. P&O Oriana was built-in 1995 and she carries over 1,800 passengers.

There aren’t too many adult only ships around these days, P&O have the Arcadia too but it is good to have these options to recommend to my clients who want to be guaranteed there will be no children about, even in the school summer holidays.

This refurbishment is good news as it will certainly cover off one of the few negative feedback’s received.

The refurbishment is planned for November 2016 and P&O say that there will be updates to the cabins, suites, entertainment areas, restaurants, bars and public areas.

The Peninsular and Oriental Restaurants will be getting refurbished, the carpets and curtains will be changed, new lighting and new colour schemes. 

Major work will be done on Oriana’s cabins. They will be brought up to an even higher standard with repairs and upgrades throughout. Balconies will get some attention too.

P&O Oriana’s last cruise before the refurbishment will be its 34-night USA and Caribbean sailing. The ship will resume cruises in December.
