P&O Announce their next adult-only ship, the Aurora

P&O Cruises always have quite a variation of ships in their fleet ranging from large, modern and family friendly ships through to smaller more traditional adult-only ships.

I like the fact that P&O have some adult-only ships as many of my passengers who like a quieter child-free cruise, even in the school holidays have that option available to them. I felt it was a real shame when P&O sold the Adonia as she was quite unique in the fleet holding only around 700 passengers.

Since the Adonia has left P&O still have the Arcadia and Oriana as adult-only options but it seemed like a space needed to be filled and with larger new ships on the horizon it seems to make sense that P&O have announced that the Aurora will join Arcadia and Oriana as an adult-only ship.

This will not be until April 2019 when the Aurora will have had a refit and come out of dry dock.

There will be some who have already booked with children on the Aurora after 8th April 2019. These people will be offered the chance to rebook on an alternative family friendly ship or cancel with a full refund plus a 5% of their cruise future cruise credit.

I think this is good news really as there are plenty of decent family friendly ships out there but not as many adult-only ones so to have another option for my clients who want this is welcome.
