New Cunard and P&O Getaways now with added on board credit !

I previously blogged in June of this year about the fact that P&O and Cunard had in effect done a “U-turn” on their getaway fares policy allowing cabins with an occupancy of one, three or four to now book on getaway fares departing from 1st September 2013 onwards (you can read that blog HERE)

Now P&O and Cunard have released a selection of cruises on what they call “Enhanced Getaway” fares that have on board credit also included. (details in pictures below, click to enlarge)  In my eyes this is another reverse in direction for these cruise line’s as they have already put so much time and effort trying to make people understand the difference in terms between their Vantage and Getaway deals.

I remember when the getaway fares first came out, I was told by Carnival that the getaway fares would never be more than 15% below the vantage fares, that didn’t last for long, I have seen fares that have been reduced by well over 50% from the Vantage fare since then.

Of course it isn’t a bad thing that singles and families aren’t losing out as much now and that there is extra on board credit to had on some cruises.  My issue is with all of the constant changes in direction and going against previous policies.

Surely this is going to make people lose trust in the brands and alienate them ?

What do you think ?  Do you think they are losing their way ?
