Cunard to base the Queen Elizabeth in Australia

Cruises around the Australasia area are getting more and more popular, I have certainly seen a steady rise in booking of them over the last few years.

It seems like Cunard want to capitalise on this and have announced that the Queen Elizabeth will be operating sailings based out of Sydney and Melbourne between February and April of 2019.

The cruises which will go on sale from the 30th March 2017 will include seven cruises to New Zealand, South Australia and Tasmania.

They will include two round trip New Zealand voyages, one from Sydney and the other from Melbourne. Additionally there will be three round trip voyages including Tasmanian itineraries, two from Melbourne and one from Sydney.

I think this is great news as Cunard will still have World Cruise offerings around this time but also have this as an added alternative, this is something different and I think it will be really popular.

I know that here at Cruise.co.uk we will be looking to make these itineraries even better by looking to extend them with land elements as part of our Tailor Made packages. Even if there isn’t an advertised package available we will be able to put our clients together an atol protected package with added land elements. If you are travelling to the other end of the world, you might as well make the most of it !

It has also been announced that the Queen Elizabeth will have undergone a recent refit shortly before her Australian deployment so this sounds like good news all round.

Itineraries and further details will be announced on the 14th March 2017 so if you would like to know more please get in touch.
