Bargain Brits Abroad!

So, my blog this week is a bit different, as doesn’t involve a cruise aspect.  I thought I would tell you about my recent trip to Benidorm.  So, it all started on Saturday, we got up and made the trip down to Plymouth for my step-sisters wedding (well the home party), and needed to make it down there by 2pm – didn’t want to miss Wales v Scotland – Well Done Wales!  So we went to the party, left around 1am (was meant to be an early night, considering I wasn’t drinking), and had to get back up at 3am to make the trip to Bristol Airport.

So after the fun of the tiresome drive to Bristol, it meant a “decent” kip on the plane.  We arrived into Benidorm around lunchtime after the transfer, and we checked into our apartment.  We booked just a cheap apartment, and to be honest was pleasantly surprised, so anyway, the first place we headed was of course the pub – there was another matter of a 6 nations match to watch!  After watching England thrashing Italy, it was time for bed – close to 24 hours being awake was tough going!

Throughout the week then, we just did a lot of walking around to the Old Town, which we love to do, and to be fair, considering it was February, it was rammed.  Now the reason for my headline, “Bargain Brits Abroad” – Benidorm was busy!  And I am talking like Summer busy!  Everywhere we looked there were stag and hen parties, groups out for birthday weekends, it was a great laugh.

And Benidorm wouldn’t be complete without a mobility scooter!  Around every corner, outside every restaurant was like a miniature car park for mobility scooters, double scooters, single scooters.  You can see why Benidorm is so popular for us Brits.  Don’t get me wrong it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for a cheap week/weekend away it did the trick!

Have you ever been to Benidorm, what were your thoughts?  Answers on a postcard please!
