And so it begins……..

Bet your wondering what I am going to talk about in my blog this week?  Well it is about everyone’s favourite “C” word, and no it’s not Cruise, but Christmas!  I was in my local Tesco the other day, and noticed that they had started putting out it’s Christmas chocolate, and starting its Christmas aisle!  Really!? It is September, Halloween hasn’t passed yet.  To me, these shops (now I admit, not every shop is the same), are all about the money.  Don’t get me wrong there are always some deals to be had like the chocolate tins reduced or your choice of advent calendar for the better half – I’ve already been told, Reeces Peanut Butter Cup – but surely September is a step too far.  I’m like a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas, and quite old fashioned, in the way I like Halloween to come first then the panic of Christmas begins.

However when Christmas does start to come around, I do enjoy it, I guess having 2 young nieces does help.  I’ve already asked my sisters for the kids Christmas list, so I can prepare myself for what is to come.  In that respect I do make a list quite early, however I tend to leave it until the last minute to actually buy the gifts, there’s just nothing worse than rushing round shops with people who have the same idea as you – Thank God for online shopping that’s all I can say.

In an ideal world for me, I would love to go away for Christmas and New Year, but I am very family orientated and I am afraid that I would be missing out on something with my family or I wouldn’t enjoy it as much, there is just something holding me back.  I often wonder what it would be like on a cruise at Christmas, would the ship be decorated?  Would Christmas dinner be served?  These are questions I would love to answer for you one day.
