Choices!

Last night I watched an episode of the TV show “Room 101”. For those not familiar with it, the name was taken from the torture room in George Orwells’ “Nineteen Eighty-Four” which was supposed to contain the worst thing in the world. Apparantly,  Mr Orwell took the name from a room numbered 101 in which he sat through many boring meetings at the BBC. The concept of the game is for celebrities to nominate something or someone that irritates them to be banished to Room 101.

Len Goodman, former head judge on “Strictly Come Dancing” was on this particular episode and chose “too much choice”! He argued a good case about how nowadays we can’t just pop out for milk and bread for example as we are confronted with copious varieties of each. It’s true. When I first went in a supermarket as a child it seemed then that there was a large selection. Nowadays, that same supermarket would fit into just one aisle at my local Tesco Superstore.

It is not just grocery shopping that has altered. Holidays are a good example. Land-based or at sea, escorted or independent touring, low-cost, charter or scheduled flights, the list is endless. Look at how many airports are called London for example, Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Stansted and Luton.

The cruise industry has grown at an amazing pace over the past few years. Choice of ship, itinerary, cabin type , drinks packages, dining options all need to be considered. Balcony cabins may now look over a garden or a boardwalk as well as the ocean. Interior cabins may have virtual balconies.

So….is all this choice a good thing? Whilst things may take a bit longer to decide on (this is where we come in with help if about cruises!), I think it is good as with this comes competitive pricing and most importantly something to suit your needs.

It’s a thumbs up from our happy clients, what do you think?
